West Marin Transportation Needs

COMING SOON! New Pilot Shuttle Serving West Marin

On April 8, 2024 the Marin Transit Board of Director's authorized an expansion of the Marin Access Shuttle Program for one pilot shuttle along the coast of West Marin between Stinson Beach and Point Reyes. This shuttle will be implemented before the end of the current fiscal year and will be operated under the District's existing operations contracts. This pilot shuttle will be designed to operate in a loop giving riders the opportunity to travel within West Marin multiple times a day. This new service is expected to greatly improve access to critical services such as USPS, Health and Human Services, food pantries, and medical providers for services that may only be available on specific days of the week. Final service characteristics such as day of week and time of day of the shuttle service will be finalized in the coming weeks. Community education and outreach efforts will begin in May. West Marin Transportation Needs Survey

Marin Transit collected feedback from riders via a survey in February and March 2024. Feedback collected through this survey allowed staff to understand from riders, which improvements to existing programs such as the Stagecoach Route 61 or 68, the Marin Access Shuttle program, the TRIP volunteer driver program were desired. The survey also provided insight into whether new programs could better serve community members in West Marin. Riders had the opportunity to enter a raffle to win one of three $100 Amazon Gift Cards.

The survey closed on March 29, 2024. Raffle winners will be selected and notified soon!
