In June 2025, the Marin Transit Board of Directors approved a pilot program to offer Same Day Paratransit service to enrolled riders starting July 1, 2025.
The pilot program will be offered for a period of six months and be evaluated on an ongoing basis. Read more about the Same Day Paratransit pilot program here.
Program Information
- The Same Day Paratransit Pilot Program is available to all riders enrolled for paratransit service.
- The pilot program is available for local trips (e.g. those that have both an origin and destination in Marin County) only; regional paratransit trips (e.g. those that have an origin or destination outside or Marin County) are not eligible for this program.
- All trips will be fulfilled on an as-available basis. If there is no availability, same day paratransit trip requests may be denied.
Reservations
- To request a same day trip, call the scheduling number provided in your welcome packet between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. seven days a week. Trips may be scheduled to occur after 5:00 PM as long as the reservation is made prior to 5:00 PM on the day of the trip.
- First time riders will be asked to complete a brief enrollment process by phone. To complete this in advance of requesting a trip, click here.
- Be prepared to give your full name, your origin, your destination, and either the time you need to be picked up OR the time you need to be dropped off.
- Let the reservationist know if you have some flexibility in your schedule and if you will need a return trip.
- Cancellations must be made at least two hours prior to your scheduled pick-up time. Riders failing to cancel in advance may have riding privileges suspended. Timely cancellations allow Marin Access to serve more customers.
Fares
- The fare for the Same Day Paratransit pilot program is $15 per one-way trip.
- Riders enrolled in the Marin Access Fare Assistance program may use MAFA credit to pay the fare; riders may not use the Marin Access Mobility Wallet to pay the fare.
