Reasonable Modification

Marin Transit is compliant with the requirements of the ADA. The Reasonable Accommodation/Modification regulation provides that transportation entities make reasonable accommodations/modifications to policies, practices, and procedures to ensure that services and programs are accessible to everyone including individuals with disabilities. Use the information below to request a change to make the transit system more accessible to you.

Reasonable Modification Requests

A rider may request a modification to Marin Transit / Marin Access’s policies, practices or procedures to accommodate his/her disability. Modifications will be considered and granted as long as it is determined that the rider is not able to fully use Marin Transit / Marin Access’s services, programs, or activities for their intended purpose without the requested modification and said modification does not:

  1. Fundamentally alter the nature of Marin Transit / Marin Access services, programs or activities;
  2. Create a direct threat to the health or safety of others;
  3. Cause unreasonable financial or administrative burden

Reasonable Modification Complaints

If you would like to file a complaint regarding the service or a determination of your reasonable modification request, please contact the Reasonable Modification Coordinator at 415-226-0869 or by email at mosman@marintransit.org. Marin Transit / Marin Access will review and investigate each complaint regarding reasonable modification that is filed and respond to you, with a reason for the response, within 14 calendar days.
