Marin Transit has received it's first two Zero Emission Battery Electric Buses in September 2018!
The buses, which can seat 32 passengers, will charge overnight and be operated on Marin Transit local routes by Golden Gate Transit (GGT). Charging infrastructure has been installed already. The advertised range of the buses are 145 miles per charge, but things like heat and hills reduce the range. The buses will first operate no more than 80 miles per day as both Transit agencies learn more about the buses' capabilities.
The goal of the project is to help Marin Transit staff learn. Throughout the life of the buses, staff will be evaluating performance, reliability, cost, and scalability. Please see the board report below for additional information.
