Effective March 5, 2018, Marin Transit is expanding the service area for Marin Access Paratransit to include the neighborhood of East San Rafael/Peacock Gap. Residents living in the East San Rafael/Peacock Gap area who qualify for paratransit service under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will be able to call one to seven days in advance of their requested trip and schedule a ride. The service will be available from 10 am to 2 pm and 4pm to 7 pm on weekdays. On weekends, the service will be available from 8 am to 5 pm.
Prior to this change, Marin Access Paratransit only served destinations east of San Pedro School on a case by case basis depending upon availability. To relieve uncertainties and provide more reliable transportation options for residents, eligible East San Rafael residents will now be served regardless of capacity constraints during the service hours listed above. This change was initiated in response to feedback from the community and made possible by the funding Marin Transit receives through Measure A and Measure B. The Transit District will monitor the results of the expanded service area and continue to look at service expansion efforts to further support mobility in East San Rafael as well as other areas of Marin County currently underserved by public transit.
Marin Access Paratransit service is offered alongside a suite of transportation programs and services for older adults and persons with disabilities in Marin County. For a full listing of all programs provided by Marin Transit and those offered by other providers in your community, visit the Marin Access website.
