By now you might have heard the good news that for a broad region of the state including Marin County, the drought is over. Marin Transit offers the tattered State of Good Repair (SOGR) construction schedule to prove it. Construction has been underway since December 3, 2018 for the final phase of the SOGR Bus Stop Improvements Project. In between the downpours, crews have been installing upgrades to local bus stops that improve passenger amenities and Americans with Disabilities (ADA) access. Making progress has truly been a challenge as rain unrelentingly fell upon the construction sites. However, the drier forecase for next week will allow us to schedule some of the work that fell victim to the torrential rains experienced the past few weeks. Below is the rescheduled work plan.
Next week (February 19-22) - President's Day Week:
Redhill Avenue at Sequoia Drive - The construction of this stop will coincide with Spring Break since it is a heavily used student stop. This helps to minimize passenger disruptions. A temporary stop will be placed in front of United Markets at Red Hill Ave and Forbes.
✔ Install new shelter
Week of February 25 - March 8:
Magnolia Avenue at Bon Air Road -
✔ Temporarily relocate stop 195 feet from current bus stop
✔ Remove sidewalk & asphalt
✔ Construct new sidewalk & pavement
✔ Install new shelter & trash receptacle
If the weather continues to cooperate, crews will finish the Redwood Boulevard & Grant Avenue work including the replacement of the graffiti damaged panels. They have already managed to complete the benchwork, striping and display panel modifications. Also, construction at Tiburon Boulevard & Greenwood Cove Road is tentatively scheduled for the week of March 4th.
Look for the next update in two weeks. If you have any questions about the project or construction activity, contact Adrienne Taylor at 415-226-0855 or email@example.com.
