Bus Stop Construction Update – December 17 2018

Marin Transit is committed to providing improvements that benefit bus riders and increase operational safety as demonstrated by the launch of the second phase of the State of Good Repair Bus Stop Improvements Project.  Since December 3, 2018 construction crews have been hard at work at three locations.

Mission Avenue at Mary Street

✔ Removed curbs, gutters, and sidewalk
✔ Constructed new sidewalk and curbs

Canal Street at Medway Road

✔ Removed curbs, two trees
✔ Removed curbs, gutters, and sidewalk
✔ Constructed new sidewalk and curbs

Los Ranchitos Road and Golden Hinde Boulevard

✔ Removed curbs, gutters, sidewalk, and landscaping
✔ Constructed new sidewalk and curbs

For all three locations the temporary bus stops will remain in place until the concrete is totally dry and all amenity installations complete.

This week, the Redwood and Grant stop will undergo some modifications to the new facility including adding speed limits to the roadways, applying directional signage to the posts and making the bench accessible to all seeking protection provided by the glass windscreen.  Starting December 24, barring any shipping delays, the crews will add new shelters to three stops: Canal & Medway, Lincoln & Grand and Tamalpais & Madera

A total of 11 bus stops will undergo improvements during December and January.  To track progress, follow the news section of the website for bi-weekly updates. Coast Side Concrete is the contractor for this final phase of the State of Good Repair project.  Park Engineering is supporting construction management.  If you have any questions about the project or the construction activity, contact Marin Transit’s Capital Project Manager, Adrienne Taylor at 415 226-0855.
