The Muir Woods Shuttle is a seasonal service that operates on Weekends, Memorial Day, and Labor Day only.

Service for the 2012 season will operate from May 5, 2012 through October 28, 2012. Service to Sausalito Ferry will operate from May 26, 2012 through September 3, 2012.

A special round trip regular fare of $3.00 and discount fare of $1.00 applies.

SCHEDULES: LOCAL SERVICE: ROUTE 66 - MUIR WOODS SHUTTLE (Seasonal: Weekends, Memorial Day & Labor Day | May-October)

RIDER ALERT- Customers are advised to avoid going to Muir Woods on Memorial Day Weekend if they can go on a different day. Traffic is expected to be unusually high, which will cause delays.

The Muir Woods Shuttle service resumes on May 5, 2012! Take the Shuttle to the Muir Woods National Monument without the hassle of traffic and parking. Service is sponsored by Marin Transit and the National Park Service, and operated under a service agreement between Marin Transit and MV Transportation. This year the service will extend through the summer until October 28, 2012. Free parking is available at the Pohono Park and Ride lot off Highway 101. Direct connections to/from the Golden Gate Sausalito Ferry will be available from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. Marin Transit also provides shuttle service to other scenic destinations in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area such as Stinson Beach and serves Point Reyes National Seashore. Check out the Marin Stagecoach (Routes 61 and 68) page for more information on these services.

Please note:

1. Round trip fares are collected in the westbound trip, towards Muir Woods.

2. You will be issued a "Round Trip Muir Woods Shuttle Pass" when you pay your fare. You must retain this pass and present it to the driver when you board the return trip on the Muir Woods Shuttle. Shuttle Passes are only valid on the day purchased.

3. One-way fares are not available.

4. Fares can be paid with cash, Value Cards, or Marin Transit Passes. Exact change required. Credit cards and Clipper are not accepted. Marin Transit can issue change tickets. Remaining balance on change tickets are not redeemable for cash; however, they are good for use on transit within Marin County and are accepted as donations at the Muir Woods Park entrance.

The award-winning theatrical association, Mountain Play, will be putting on performances this year on May 20, May 27, June 3, June 10, June 16, and June 17th. Please note that Mountain Play operates yellow school buses on these dates between Pohono Street Park & Ride lot and the theater. Riders wishing to take the Shuttle to Muir Woods should NOT board a yellow school bus.
